A big thank you to all those who voted Lib Dem in north Lambeth on the 6th of May, whether in the local elections or the General Election - or both!
Although we have not managed to dislodge Labour this time, we were heartened by all the support we received including from many new voters. Across Lambeth the Lib Dems now have 15 councillors; including councillors in Bishop's, Oval, and Vassall wards in the Vauxhall constituency.
The Lib Dems will continue to speak up for everyone across the Vauxhall constituency on the matters that concern us all, and hold Lambeth Labour and their policies to account.
Nationally, we have formed a coalition government that will allow us to deliver on many of the policies that our supporters voted for; this includes additional support for students from low income backgrounds; an increase in the income tax threshold, lifting many out of taxation altogether; a new focus on green industries in the economy; a cancellation of the National ID card scheme; Parliamentary reform, including the ability for voters to recall their MP; and a referendum of electoral reform.
