Vauxhall Lib Dems Speak Out on Tube Ticket Office Closures

Vauxhall Lib Dems have tonight spoken out against proposals by TfL to significantly reduce the opening hours of ticket offices in local tube stations.
A document published today by the TSSA appears to show the proposed changes to tube ticket office opening hours. If true, the document shows that one of the worst-hit of our local stations to be Kennington, where the ticket office opening hours Monday - Friday would be slashed from 06:00 - 20:00 to only 07:00 - 10:45.
The document alleged that local ticket office hours would be changed as follows:
- Kennington: 27.5 hours per week, down from 96.5 hours (72% cut)
- Oval: 87.5 hours per week, down from 112 hours (22% cut)
- Stockwell: 97.25 hours per week, down from 120 (19% cut)
- Vauxhall: 102.5 hours per week, down from 121.5 (16% cut)
Commenting on the apparently leaked documents, Vauxhall Lib Dems Parliamentary Campaigner Caroline Pidgeon said: "If true, these proposals will shock commuters in the Vauxhall area, especially as they are already reeling from the news of 82 weeks of Northern line closures. TFL seem to have got their priorities all wrong yet again."
