Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has announced plans to tackle the challenge of youth unemployment, in the face of new figures projecting 1.2 million young people could be unemployed by the end of 2011. The plans feature a package of proposals to help young people find work and skills more quickly.

The plans are fully costed and could be funded by scrapping the VAT cut immediately.
